I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI. I was always into artistic mediums as a kid. I think it was the memories of my dad playing guitar when I was younger that had a large part to do with me learning guitar. When I was coming up on my 17th birthday I asked my mom for a guitar. I got a cheap beginner's acoustic and I loved it. For the first 3 or 4 weeks I played for 8 hours every day. Not long after I took a few lessons but quit because the teacher couldn't keep up with the progress I was making on my own. I taught myself from then on...
