Josh Weber(guitar) and Josh Rodasti(keys, production) were introduced by a mutual friend at South Dakota State University. At the same time, Weber had met Matt Wiest(guitar, vocals) in the dorms there. The three formed the beginning stages of the Outlet. Matt's long time friend Eddie O'Byrn(lyrics) joined the group and has written all of the lyrics since. After writing a few songs together and recording them in the dorms, they began to look for the remaining members. They found Josh Danderand(bass) at a local bar in a jazz band a few weeks later. Also, Aaron Gates(drums) helped with the band. After a few months of recording, they finished their first album "Get Hardcore for Free". They grew a large fan base in the Sioux City area, thanks to the 3rd place finish at the battle of the bands and are now based there. With new additions in Britain Conover(drums) and Brandion Olsen(vocals).
