You're probably going to answer this in part 2 but i'll ask anyways. When you're thinking about note choice, do you think in terms of the overall key, or chord by chord for each bar? Like, do you try to think "use notes from Dm7, ok now G7, ok now Cmaj7" or would you just think "use notes from C?"
