Josemaria Escriva was born in Spain on January 9, 1902 and died in Rome on June 26, 1975. On October 2, 1928, God enabled him to see Opus Dei, which is a personal prelature of the Catholic Church, which spreads the universal call to holiness through ordinary life. He was canonized by Pope John Paul II on October 6, 2002.
