Ritmica Ostinata for Piano and Orchestra--one of Akira Ifukube's best known works. A stirring and rythmical journey that discribes in musical language the heart and spirit of the Japanese people. Recently has it been preformed for the first time in the US. First written in 1961 and later revised in 1972, Ritmica Ostinata continues to be a popular piece in concerts halls throughout Japan.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a mutiple movement piece; that is, it is meant to be heard in one sitting as one orchestration, not as "parts 1-3". Unfortunately, because the piece is over 20 minutes long, I am forced to cut it down into three seperate sections for YouTube. I understand the effect this will have to your listening experience, but please bare with me. Be forewarned, though, that many of Ifukube's compositions for over 10 minutes long, so this will likely not be the last time I'll have to cut up a masterpiece. Thank you for understanding.
