This song was great on "The Stills-Young Band" album in 1976. Neil was writing about his love of an old car. I thought it was originally about "Buffalo Springfield". Stupid me. Anyway a fantastic song. Neil is one talented man.

Undoubtedly Neil Young is one of the most talented songwriters of the 20th century in rock. His songs are sometimes depressing ,but they tell a story, and are always personal. From "Buffalo Springfield", till present, Neil has presented us a cavalcade of songs that tug at our heart strings.

Neil once again proves that being unorthodox on the electric guitar, "Old Black", can be great. What an awesome sound. Vibrato, feedback, and all.

What an awesome song. Undoubtedly surpasses anything done by "Cream". The double album "Layla" was Clapton's greatest work. Great ballads, guitar work with Duane Allman, and Jim Gordon's fantastic piano solo on "Layla" .In my opinion the best rock album of 1970.

This version was just "Buffalo Springfield" . No Dr. John. That was Neil Young's version. This sounds kind of like "The Monkeys". Rather dorky. I love Stephen Stills but they made a big mistake not letting Neil singing both versions.

"Live Rust" was a great album. This is a song that goes back to Neil's "Buffalo Springfield" days. An awesome song. One of the great song writers of the 20th century. His career spans 45 years. That's what I call "Lasting Power". Now he's going to tour with "Buffalo Springfield" in 2012. Awesome.
