Primarily it was a folk song used by the religious and ultimately political for the civil rights campaigns in the 1960s across the USA. The Scottish Bagpipes weren't introduced to this song until the 1970s when the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards which is a senior regiment of the British Army recorded...
