This song takes me back to my Navy days in Okinawa, 1962, All my buddies and my

youth. We worked and played hard and at night we'd go into the clubs where we heard

all the great tunes from the States. Funny how music can take you back. Thanks for

I was in Tony's Pool Room in Naminioui in 1963, when RASP came stormin'

in and put all us GIs up against the wall. They took me back to Naha Air Base

where the duty officer turned me loose. He said we can't arrest you for gambling

when we have all the slot machines on base. Sensible. Love this song.

In my Navy days 1962 -63, my house was behind the Tea House Of The August

moon....in Naminoui. Beautiful song!

I am a Navy Vet and I love this song...but it has one line that has always bothered me: "WHERE AT LEAST I KNOW I'M FREE", I believe that line could be better written usin' a positive statement.
