He was born in the Liverpool Maternity Hospital, to Julia and Alfred Lennon. His moother boght him his first guitar in 1956 which is when he joined the Beatles bt then, they were known as the Quarrymen. His mother was hit by a car and killed on the night of July 15, 1958. He was later accepted to the Liverpool College of Art and was thrown ot before his final year. On March 20, 1969, he was married to Yoko Ono. Lennon qit the Beatles later in September 1969 to go off on his own. At around 10:50 pm on December 8 1980, as Lennon and Ono returned to their New York apartment in The Dakota, Mark David Chapman shot Lennon in the back four times at the entrance to the building. Lennon was taken to the emergency room of nearby Roosevelt Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival at 11:07 pm. Earlier that evening, Lennon had autographed a copy of Double Fantasy for Chapman.
