Hi there, Poetry lovers all around the world and here in the San Francisco Bay Area. As some of you know I have expanded from my nationally syndicated PEG TV Poetry Show which I co-host with Clara Hsu, to running a San Francisco Poetry Movie Theater with help from among other people Erica Goss Poet Laureate of Los Gatos California, and the pedaling poet of San Francisco Stephen Kopel. We got out first grant thru Poets and Writers from the James Irvine Foundation. We are going to attempt to pay as many poets for their readings as possible which is very uncommon for San Francisco. We are looking for grants for our organization. We will be working with disadvantaged populations as well as well to do individuals. The month that I am recording this Promo we are working on an event funded by Poets and Writers as mentioned above, based on the theme of disability and stigma. This is segway to the fact that I have published a novel called Little Bird Told Me about an Avante Garde couple with mental illness, who bottom out and rise to the highest heights. Two of the poets, Eileen Malone, and Mary Rudge in the latest event have both been PEG TV Producers like me and I am trying to digitize their shows to DVD and online to youtube and archive.org. I will also be producing DVDs of shows for the public. We will be combining Poetry Theater Events with featured poetry readings. My Poetry TV Show has aired way over 600 times nationally not counting re-runs which PEG TV is notorious for. I imagine I might be heading up towards 10,000 airings nationally, counting re-runs. Some stations air one show as much as 12 times a month. Massachusetts is close to saturated with my show..
My videos are available on youtube, blip.tv, archive.org, and are syndicated thru podcast channels like Podcast Alley, and I've even got a private channel on the Roku box with the open passcode of sfpoet.
I have been doing this for years for little or no money and have decided to try to make something out of it. If you give grants, or would like to donate, please consider giving us a grant, or donating. As M.C Hammer might say: "Can't Stop This".
