About this user

I make mixed media constructions that use the element of video to show movement and sound in the landscape. These constructions are the size of tabletop radios to dining room chairs. When creating this work, there is an action of gathering and hunting down imagery, materials and electronics that have an accidental result. Often the materials and subject dictate how I design a construction. My intention is to express how human structures interact and impose on the natural landscape. Having lived in large cities, I observed how nature was twisted and squeezed by a created environment. I have also observed that no matter how far you may be from civilization there is evidence of human impact on the landscape. Even in the most remote settings you can look up to the sky and see a contrail from a jet. My work is an exploration of how these elements of nature and human structures appear, move, change and disappear in time.
