I made the mistake of buying the Alf Book at the Five and Dime store, instead of buying the ladder. You read through a story about Alf (I didn't pay attention to what it said) and at the end it says "Suprise...Ha!" and you suddenly find yourself at the start menu, all your progress lost. Real fun...
