About this user

Born and raised in San Francisco, I've learned to question stereotypes and authority from an early age. I was taught with hard work and effort anything is possible in life. My father always showed that by example with providing a house in the Marina District for his family by working long days down Fisherman's Wharf. As I came of age an approached my teens, my immediate family was being torn apart, and soon after that my father moved out and left my mother to raise three adolescent teens in a city with temptation all over. Though there still may be deep scars and shame with being a product of such a dysfunctional family, it introduced me to a side of the city that I would have never even glanced at had the family stay within those traditional lines. In short, I began to run with a different crowd. Kids from all walks of life would interact through graffiti, and though no one would talk about it back then, there was always common denominators between all of us, we would all use graffiti as a creative outlet, we were all having problems at home, and last but not least, we all took pride in calling San Francisco home. For many of us, including myself, the city was the only thing that kept us afloat. I owe this urban metropolis my wit, my effort, and my fight for it to remain home to many of its disenfranchised souls.
