If the answer to the question 'where did the universe come from?' is 'God', it doesn't really answer anything - because you're still left with the question 'where did God come from?'.
If God came from nothing, then the universe could have come from nothing.
I absolutely don't deny the existence of things that cannot be understood by reason. quite the opposite. most things are unknown to human reason. I object to idiots claiming to understand what cannot be understood.
