The entire repertoire of all types of music.I love & enjoy the world of music. The whole gamut of different genres is a constant source of fascination.Rameau's music represents, for me,the clear voice of sanity, civilization, bonhomie &,of course, love in all its many & varied forms.Rameau's music seems to express a whole universe of beautiful ideals & brilliant concepts in a very basic & easily absorbed fashion, yet delivered with great flourish & style.Rameau is truly the great master of music in my opinion.Whereas Lully is the height of sophistication,Rameau has a much more earthy quality which communicates more effectively.Yet,despite this, there is nothing more refined than Rameau's Air gai pour Zephyr et les Graces from Les Fetes d'Hebe.Rameau's music always illuminates, enlightens & uplifts. The most innovative & avant-garde of all the great composers. The finesse, clarity & quality of articulation, sonority, tone colour, rhythm, tempi & chords produces the most beautiful music. To me,Rameau's music is a beautiful anomaly. It is very masculine & muscular, but achieves perfect balance by being essentially very genteel. Finally,Rameau's choral music is unequalled & unparalleled in my opinion.Others compose beautiful music, but none attain Rameau's level.I think the nearest equivalent to Rameau is the post-modern Nashville country scene. The songwriting teams & production techniques create some fabulous music, which also has a social conscience.I am a great fan of Rugby Union.I am a fan of London Fashion Week.I am a great fan & admirer of Laurel Jenkins Tentindo (contemporary dance). She is just fabulous & I absolutely love her.She is the personification of finesse, grace & poise.Laurel's interpretation of Rameau contains a lighthearted & playful benevolence which perfectly matches the music.I appreciate good food.Recipes:Pork Chipolatas In Fresh Buttered Crusty Rolls,Lamb's Liver With Tomatoes,Onion & Mash & Syrup Sponge With Custard. In sport,my speciality is middle-distance running.I have competed in 800 metres at track & field championship level.I have also competed in 5 Miles Cross-Country running at championships.I am also a proficient cyclist & rower.I am a great fan of Moto GP & all motorsports generally.I'm a swimmer at beginner level & a great fan of all the Olympic & Paralympic swimming events.I support the British Olympic Swimming Team.I am a great believer in the educational benefits of child's play in forming good relationships & interpersonal skills.Favourite fragrances:CK Crave & Tommy by Hilfiger.Recipe:Corned Beef/Pickle Tapas & Pepsi Cola Topped With Vanilla Ice Cream.I play tennis, cricket, golf & football at beginner level & just for relaxation & pleasure.I also drive go-karts.In my leisure time,I'm an amateur horticulturalist, architect, decorator & painter in oils, pastels & watercolours.I like Le Corbusier & I'm interested in technical drawing & draughtsmanship.I can draw in pencil & charcoal to a very good standard & I'm an excellent colourist.I was a child prodigy in arts & languages.I also play Gipsy/Jazz improvisation style spanish & 12 string acoustic guitars.Mostly self-taught & to a very high standard.
Movies:
Le Roi Danse,Marie Antoinette etc.
Music:
French Baroque, especially J.P.Rameau,J.B.Lully & M.A.Charpentier.I find Rameau's music to be a cultural & artistic idyll of expressionism which transcends all barriers.I love Rameau's music intensely,as it seems to reflect great humanity, love & joyfulness. From joyful contredanses to beautiful ariettes,Rameau's vast music contains an array of cosmic wonders & stellar performances.La musique, les musiciens, les danses et les danseurs, les chanteurs et les chanteuses de Rameau sur internet sont tres, tres bon.Les choristes de Rameau,Patricia Petibon,Aurelia Leguay et Sophie Daneman sont parmi mes favorites personnel.I play violin, recorder, guitars, mandolin, fender bass & keyboards.I sing tenor lead vocal & backing vocal.I play a hybrid amalgam of blues/country/funk/fusion.My natural style is very similar to Stephen Stills, although I can also play in other idioms. My guitar playing style most closely resembles the late, great Albert Collins.I have played lead guitar behind, among others,Arthur Crudup & Walter Horton.I had a really happy childhood. My father was a fan of Les Paul & Mary Ford & could also play drums. My mother was an accomplished pianist & a fan of Frank Sinatra. We always had music.Records, dancing,a piano & a guitar. They're my earliest influences.I agree with Bill Payne of Little Feat when he says how much we all need art, artists, music & musicians to keep it all together. My sincere wish is that all humanity discovers the liberating & joyful wonder of Rameau's fabulous music.Incredibly, both baroque yet contemporary.Very fresh, modern & hip,yet noble & great.Relevant to today.Profound, yet up-to-date.Really where it's at.I have played session guitar & lead guitar/vocals for Stackhouse Blues Band & Thunderclap Newman.I have also played lead guitar & rhythm guitar/vocals for folk-group Harmony & various informal jam-bands.Influences:Jefferson Airplane,Stephen Stills,Harvey Mandel,Little Feat & The Byrds.I have played lead guitar behind Johnny Mars(blues) & auditioned for various leading rock & blues groups. My favourite songwriters are Jose Duarte,Stephen Stills,Ashford & Simpson & Holland-Dozier-Holland.I write my own rock & blues songs & have also played lead guitar with two psychedelic rock jam-bands,Quintessence & Hurrying Angel. My first musical venture was with a politico-rock group called The Whigs, formed in the 1960's with some high-school classmates. We never achieved commercial success, but had some good concepts & ground-breaking ideas, playing a mixture of 60's R'n'B & own compositions. In conclusion,I think Rameau's operatic & balletic themes, motifs & formulae constitute an amazing melodic soundtrack which is replete with exotic rhythms & percussion. This soundscape is equally accessible to both the intellectual/academic or the layman. There are no esoteric barriers,i.e. it's all-inclusive.J'aime beaucoup la musique et les joyeux danses de Rameau et Lully.Bien amicalement a tout le monde.Enfin, les danseuses, les musiciennes et les chanteuses sont le plus d'importante a moi.Elles sont les perles de la musique de Rameau.
Books:
All types.I recently purchased How Music Works by John Powell & published by Particular Books. In my leisure time,I like to read about Sociology & Psychology.I'm fascinated by all the different ways people relate to one another & communicate. It's an incredibly wide-ranging & far-reaching subject.Body language is my favourite category.
