PS1 games are emulated. Since it's so easy to emulate a 10+ year old console. The older PS3 models actually had the PS2 CPU in there to play PS2 games though.. the newer ones don't which is why PS2 games don't work.

Buy the Super Nintendo. If you ever get $30 after that, get the Genesis. The N64 is not worth it. It has some good games but no variety. Since you missed out on these consoles I suggest you start with the greatest.

Mines stopped playing blue discs, which are the CDs. I cleaned the lens with a hankercheif by taking the shit apart and it works fine. The reset buttons are connected with a ribbon so if you ever take it apart just don't force the thing open without taking the buttons off.
