Stellar guitar tracks and the blues synth harp makes a heroic return!

The album was tracked live and recorded in analog. It's as close to a live studio album as Steely Dan ever made with the possible exception of Katy Lied. It's not overtracked out the wazoo like Two Against Nature, Gaucho, Aja, and Royal Scam.

This song btw just swings like mad.

@tonyg0123 This is correct. Brazil became energy independent. 40% of their fuel is from ethanol, but they have large reserves offshore. They simply didn't want to be dependent on Venezuela or OPEC

@avidbookreader It is certainly bizarre that the Go Gos are in the Hall and Dire Straits and The Cars sit on the outside. This album and Communique are certainly underrated.

This is a better song live than on the album. The rhythm section is a lot looser.

@mantra3000 Sprout had 0 charting singles in the US. Only one album charted in the US, Steve McQueen as Two Wheels Good. I think I've heard Nightingales once on American radio and saw If You Don't Love Me a time or two on VH1 ages ago...

Paddy at his best...pure pop confection and a Cole Porter-like dichotomy in lyrical structure and Dolby and band are at the top of their sophisticated game. Jordan the Comeback is stuffed with goodies - arguably the best album of the 90s.

I had no idea that Sprout were such a tremendous live band. They've got a real fusion sound hinted at on Jordan. Paddy's vocals are superb. Delighted I ran into it.

Good to hear Allan Holdsworth play just a little pop jazz. A very nice tune. Sax and drumming are enlivened as well.
