I am a professor of general surgery and surgical oncology at faculty of medicine and Jordan university hospital. I had joined the teaching staff 1n 1991 after earning the surgical fellowship from Glasgow (royal college of physicians and surgeons) and completing my sub specialty training in the field of surgical oncology in most reputable cancer centers and hospitals in United kingdom .During these two decades of work as consultant and teaching staff member in the department of surgery, I served thousands of patients, performed thousands of operations in the field of surgical oncology and general surgery with particular interest in complex procedures in head and neck ,gastro intestinal and breast cancer. My training allowed me to be the first oncoplastic surgeon in Jordan .I introduced the transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous (TRAM) flap to medical practice in Jordan to construct the breast after mastectomy and cover large post mastectomy defects. I published the first article from Jordan about TRAM in an international journal. I am fully skilled in using other musclocutaneous flap as lattissums dosi and pectoralis major flaps to construct defects after resection of tumors in head and neck as well as chest defects. During the last decade I published more than twenty six articles in reputable journals focusing on development of new surgical techniques and modifying others in the field of breast surgery. I can say with confidence for breast cancer victims that they will not lose their breast and its beauty due to availability of several surgical options. I participated in teaching, training and examining hundreds of under and postgraduate students who are practicing medicine and serving patients in Jordan and abroad. I attended ,participated and chaired many national and international conferences ad workshops concerning my specialty.
