@SweetSinFZ What are the three better ones? As far as I am concerned, LOTR was the most consistent trilogy out there. Godfather and the original Star Wars suffered from weaker third entries (though they are still incredible trilogies too). LOTR maintained its standards all the way to the end.

This was probably one of the worst song choices in the film. It was so over the top and cartoon like so that the scene lost any intimacy. I actually laughed out loud when the music started. And it all led up to a bad punchline with the spewing fire gag. Lame-o!

2. It was better in idea than execution. I agree it was a better change but the actual event seemed like it ran out of steam at the end.

Best action scene in the film. Part of the joy of the first movie is that most of it feels like genuine stunts and practical effects. This scene really capitalized on that to great effect. It helps that it was edited, shot and designed so excellently as well!

Well...I think audiences responded indifferently to War Horse because it really was not that great. It is a well made film, but I think it really missed out on the emotional core. It just tried too hard. Not a bad film, but it is definitely lucky to have a Best Picture nomination.
