thought i was the only one who loved this cut off of the "Blind Baby" album. Londee was gorgeous and had a beautiful voice!

an underrated classic from an all-time underrated classic group.

all but 1 original member are deceased, but Harold Melvin's Blue Notes, managed by Harold's widow, put on fantastic shows. "Big Daddy" (far left) is the closest they've ever had to the late, great Teddy Pendergrass. the one singing lead on this Harold Melvin-penned tune, sounds like Harold.

@ZOUZOU1959 i wouldn't label them a "cover band". these are "Harold Melvin's Blue Notes", a group managed by the widow of the founder, Harold Melvin. all but one original member is deceased.

"The Highways of My Life" begat "Lover's Eve" which begat "Sensuality" which begat "Let Me Down Easy". all beautiful songs. for some reason, "Lover's Eve" is "forgotten" which great Isley slow ballads are mentioned. never figured out why though.

its funny that i never considered this "disco" (which i hated), but listening to it now, i guess it was actually disco. luv this cut and their "Checking You Out" as well.

the bassline on this is very similar to Slave's "Just a Touch of Love". both are fonkay grooves still!

this is really great stuff! Lenny was unrated as a singer. his voice was similar to LJ's, just not as gritty and strong.

i think this was during the time when LJ went solo. the group dispanded a little while later before starting back up with both LJ and Wee-Gee

the entire albums was pretty incredible! too bad the Captain was never able to appropiately follow it up."Super Sporm" was taken off of the LP at 1 point in order to boost sales of the 12". it was replaced w/ "Dr Rock".

i'll be honestt, i wasn't a huge fan of rock music, but this was and is a great song!

one thing i liked about Joe Simon was his uniqueness in that he had his own style and was like no one else. his voice was very distinctive as well.
