Epyx was a video game company, among other things. Maybe they designed the Fast Load Cartridge to load their own games faster, and not those made by other manufacturers. There were a lot of software and hardware manufacturers back in the 1980's who didn't share their technological secrets.

He's basically just playing arpeggiated chords at a fast tempo. I can't do it myself, but for an experienced pianist, I don't think it would be very hard, either. It just sounds complex because of the fast tempo.
