thanks so much for posting this. I am a NNFD firefighter and was at another fire that occured 15mins prior to CNU getting struck by lightening. Both fires were 2 alarm fires, however all the apparatus was exhausted leaving only one engine remaining in the city. Both fires were lightening caused (at about 3:30-4pm that day) and were approx 2 miles from each other, but both in the Hidenwood (station 10 ) district. When we finished up at the house fire, we returned to the house at 11pm, and went back out for firewatch at CNU, where we found some areas still actively burning (behind walls and under debris) We used the Tower to finish them off, and went inside to inspect the extent of damage, and supprisingly some things were still salvagable even on the 4th floor. The water damage, which was inevitable, extended down to the first floor. I don't foresee that structure to be inhabitable anytime soon, as they intend to not destroy it, but repair
