These video clips show one of a kind tree sculptures that are created from a 3-4 inch thick slab of wood. To begin the creation process, trunks and branches are cut out, shaped and sanded smooth to expose the beautiful wood grain. Then, the branch ends are contoured and glued to the trunk. Next, leaves and flowers are made from various materials and attached to the tree with wire. Lastly, a pot is constructed to hold the tree.
About Me:

In the winter of 1995, I decided to create bonsai from a slab of wood. My live trees were in a cold frame waiting for spring to arrive. As a landscaper and artist, my passion for bonsai came naturally. My first attempt of a tree sculpture was a modest version of my later work. These sculptures, although not intended to look real, follow basic bonsai styling guidelines with proportions and branch placement paramount. They were inspired by the ancient art of bonsai and I acknowledge that nothing beats a "live" specimen.

You create very beautiful pieces, I noticed how long they take; I kind of wish that I could have a similar amount of patience. Even with my hobbies, I am only so patient..
