About Me:

I received BS Degree in Urban Government and Administration from Georgia State University in 1972 and became a member in good standing in the Georgia Bar Association in 1979 after graduating from Atlanta Law School as a Herschel E. Cole Honor Graduate.

While attending law school during the evenings, I worked full time during the day as a mail clerk and messenger for a large prestige law firm located at downtown five-points in Atlanta.

I practiced law solo for two years before returning to school to pursue an AS Degree in the then new and rapidly growing field of Electronic Engineering Technology.

Upon graduation in 1983 with High Honors, I spent the next 20 years building a successful engineering career in information technology as a telecommunications and electronic technician for a southeastern regional bank and two Georgia universities, a systems analyst for a southeastern electric utility information services company, a network engineer and a network manager for a Georgia international credit card processor and a major Georgia health care information processing company.

In August, 2003, I left the field of information technology and reentered the legal field as an attorney with a solo practice specializing in adoptions, adult misdemeanor criminal defense, juvenile delinquency defense, family violence protective orders, and guardian ad litem for children in cases of deprivation and abuse.
Country:
United States
Interests:
Surfing net; reading, boating on Lake Lanier; playing Les Paul Studio w/100W Marshall and Martin accoustic cutaway. Studied classical piano for 4 yrs ('63-'67) under East Point middle school teacher Evelyn Moseley and much later ('97-2003) improvisational blues and classical Southern rock guitar under well-known Atlanta vocalist, guitarist and all around good friend, Angela Motter.
Movies:
CSI New York, any Law and Order, Criminal Minds, Fringe; C-SPAN, CNN, PBS, History Channel.
Music:
Many (well known and not so well known), but Joe Satriani is a force of nature. I listen for premire guitar work (solos or instrumentals) in rock and blues. I'm particularily interested in progressive rock and its subgenres. I came of age in the late 60s and early 70s so I'm especially tuned into the classic rock music and counterculture politics from that bygone but incredible era.
Books:
Fiction: James Lee Burke (David Robicheau series), Michael Connelly (Harry Bosch series), John Connolly (Charlie Parker series), Randy Wayne White (Doc Ford series), George Pelecanos (Derek Strange series), Lee Child (Jack Reacher series), Cormac McCarthy, T. Jefferson Parker, Steve Thayer; Southern gothic: Ron Rash, Tom Franklin, Tim Geautreaux, Stephen Marion and Joe R. Landsdale; Historical: Devil in white City, Thunderstruck, The Great Influenza, Justinian's Flea, Rising Tide, American Lightening; Nonfiction: The Crisis of Global Capitalism (George Soros), Assault on Reason (Al Gore), Supercapitalism (Robert Reich), The Nine (Jeffrey Toobin), John Adams (David McCullough), Founding Brothers (Joseph Ellis); God is Red (Vine Deloria Jr.); On Democracy (Bill Moyers); Limits of Power: End of American Exceptionalism (Andrew Bacevich); Interventions (Noam Chomsky); The Predator State (James Galbraith), Globalization and Its Discontents ( Joseph E. Stiglitz); American Gospel (Jon Meacham), FDR: A Traitor to His Class (H.W. Brands); Shattering the Sacred Myths: The Metaphysics of Evolution (Robert Charles Stewart), Second Chance (Zbigniew Brezezinski), Promises to Keep (Joe Biden - Details the Judge Bork nomination), The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism (Naomi Klein); Thirteen Moons (Charles Frazer); The Atlanta Child Murders (Jack Mallard); The End of Wall St (Roger Lowenstein); American Theocracy: Peril and Politics of Radical Religion, Oil and Borrowed Money in the 21st Century (Kevin Phillips)

Thanks for the comment. I enjoyed the Satriani video. It's great that you are helping those kids who don't have a voice...I was once one of those kids. ~aubie

John, thank you for your kind words on "Comes The Light". And thank you for Posting Occupation 101. It is absolutely devastating. If only this documentary were shown to Americans and settlers alike, surely then there would be a change in the perception of the Israeli/Palestine conflict/tragedy.

Thanks for your comment on the Waxman/Greenspan clip. I wonder what Milton Friedman would think about regulation and "free markets" following the 2008 crash. Even Greenspan conceded that some regulation is required. Have a good one.
