Little League will end early this summer for twelve-year-old homeschooler, Jeremy Wood. He is also going to miss Vacation Bible School at his home church because in June he and his father are headed for the Appalachian Trail. Over a 50 day period they will sleep outside and hike over 350 miles to raise awareness and resources for the homeless. Jeremy, like most twelve-year-olds, loves baseball, video games, and playing with friends. He is beginning seventh grade as a homeschooled student and has dreams of becoming a soldier, a fireman, a history teacher, or a pastor, depending upon the day. He has one older brother and two older sisters and looks forward to not having to practice piano everyday while on the Appalachian Trail this summer. He also loves to watch the Stooges, the Andy Griffin Show, and Gomer Pyle.
