Doing these cover versions is really helping with my production skills. I've used a backing track for this one. I've been trying to concentrate on vocal reproduction, effects and filters etc. On this one there is two vocal tracks. The first vocal track is compressed and uses a plate reverb. I tried to get the settings close to that in the original. The second track is the vocals at the end of the song. They are uncompressed, and have a fraction of reverb to give them some atmosphere.
I hope you like my rendition of this great song :) Also the pics from my back garden :)

Well I'm over half way through the production of my first independant Album, which will be going on sale digitally. Hopefully in July. I stopped for a break, and decided to cover a song that was requested quite a while ago. It's "No surprises" by "Radiohead".
The video is quite a simple one. Just me sitting in half shadow. It's been said that I have a very expressive face, so I decided to do a video where I was thinking about several different memories, which provoke different emotional responses. I wanted to keep it subtle, so you could pick up the different emotions with observation. The video is a bit like the original video, but without the water. Lol :)
I hope you enjoy the song. It's another one of those memorable greats :)

Yippee I'm celebrating one year on Youtube. The best way for me to do that is to upload a new original song. This one is called "Broadcast fantasy", and it's quite fitting really, considering Youtube is all about video. It's an amusing view of tv addiction, and some of the ridiculous things that go on in soap operas etc. Beyond belief, but millions still watch :)
I hope you enjoy the song and have a chuckle at the lyrics. It's all happened on T.V.
Here are the words.
------------------------------------ BROADCAST FANTASY ------------------------------------
I missed it again, I didn't get home in time for my favourite show. I wanted to see who's sleeping with who, and who's ill from a contract review. And who has blown up the coffee shop. And has the long lost lover finally shown up.
I'm wasting my life. I could be checking out events in the real world. It's funny but I Am addicted to the broadcast fantasy.
I missed it again, I've been waiting for the fictional mission, in high definition. The reckless cause, and at the moment of greatest tension. A commercial suspension. Running alone in a battle zone. And the only harm is a scratch on the arm.
I'm wasting my life. I could be living my days in the real world. It's funny but I Am addicted to the broadcast fantasy.
I missed it again. The man who got shot drowned and maimed and came back to life. And the child that grew up so fast, and now they look like somebody else. All the stories they choose seem to shadow the news. With a moral twist for me and you.
I'm wasting my life. I could be checking out events in the real world. It's funny but I Am addicted to the broadcast fantasy.
I'm wasting my life. I could be having some fun in the real world. It's funny but I Am addicted to the broadcast fantasy

Here is the second most requested song that I've got around to doing. Yellow, being the first one. It's a fairly new song by Travis, called Closer. From their new album. It's the third Travis song I've done on here. There's still a few other Travis songs I'd like to do, including Driftwood and Flowers in the window. I thought I'd inject a bit of humour into this video. I hope you enjoy my rendition of this great song.

The 3rd of May 2008, my daughter reaches her 13th birthday. She is everything to me, and I've adapted a fantastic song by the Hollies to show how much I love her. I changed a line in the lyrics from "Making love to you" to "Making part of you". The video are clips from her first year on earth. Many have fallen under the spell of her eyes, and many still do.
I hope you enjoy the song, and my daughter's first year.

I decided to start doing a string of cover versions from my backlog, and this is the first one up. It's a wonderfully tender song, written and performed originally by one of the greatest musicians on earth. Eric Clapton. The song is about the loss of his son. Being a father, I find it difficult to comprehend the sadness of that kind of loss. My child is my life. I felt for him deeply when I first heard this song. So I sung it with him in my mind, because he is the one that has to face every day without his son. I suppose this goes as well for anyone who has lost a child.
I hope you like my interpretation.

This is a fairly new song. Written within the last couple of weeks. Every day that you live is a day of experience in your life. So take it all in :) As you can probably hear, I've been playing around again with sounds. The words are quite explanatory, but they cover a multitude of things.
Here are the lyrics: ---------------------------- DON'T WISH IT AWAY ---------------------------- Don't wish it away, don't wish it away. Don't wish it away, don't wish it away.
You told yourself a million times. That you never got it right, And all the wrong things happen At the wrong time. You feel the victim in the middle Burning ears and eyes. And that you're paying for someone else's lies.
Sometimes you hope that you can sleep. The months, the weeks, the days. So you could wake up When everything's ok. But think before you close your eyes. Every second that you see. Is a second of your life.
Don't wish it away, don't wish it away. Don't wish it away, don't wish it away.
You're already losing A third of your days Filled with senseless indications And imaginary haze Your emotional empires Fall and rise again. You feel the warmth of the sun, And get soaked by the rain. Sometimes there's things that surprise you. Sometimes that make you sigh. Sometimes you have everything. Sometimes you just get by. You go low, you get high. You laugh, you cry, Every second that you see Is a second of you life
Don't wish it away, don't wish it away. Don't wish it away, don't wish it away. Don't wish it away, don't wish it away. Don't wish it away, don't wish your life away.
Don't wish it away, don't wish it away. Don't wish it away, don't wish your life away. -------------------------------

This is a song I wrote last year, and there is a special guest appearance from a guy called "Steve Morgan". A good friend of mine, and a very talented guitarist. He's getting married soon, so I wish him all the best :) I hope you enjoy his solo :)
This is a bit of a puzzle song. Can you work out the links within the song itself, as well as the images. Also can you work out what the song is about :)
I really enjoyed making this one. Partly because I managed to get the guitar sounds that I wanted, courtesy of my friend.
Here are the lyrics.
--------------------------------------- Sight Or Sound ---------------------------------------
Am I blind, or can I see. 'Cause I'm bumping into things That are right in front of me.
My compass is spinning. Drifting aimlessly. I can't read the stars tonight. I'm lost at sea.
I've got no eyes to see you smile. There's no distinction between dark and light. No horizon between earth and sky.
I've got no hands to feel my way. I've got an illness without a name. No touch, no taste, no smell. No sight or sound.
I've got no eyes to see you smile. There's no distinction between dark and light. No horizon between earth and sky.
I've got no hands to feel my way. I've got an illness without a name. No touch, no taste, no smell. No sight or sound.
