And it's still a strange way to prove a point. I'd say the message is all but clear. Had I been god, wanting to prove my omniscience I'd have gone around and won every game of poker or something. Or why not reveal something useful like that disease is caused by germs or that the earth actually circles the sun?

Had I wanted to illustrate my caring for humanity and it's sufferings I would have simply taken away the sufferings. At least the natural evil like disease and earthquakes. Or just stopped unnecessary suffering of innocent children.

As you can tell, had I believed this god existed, I'd not think him worthy of worship.

So you say god crucified himself to prove to us that he is all-knowing? To that I say that if someone crucified himself he is anything but all-knowing. It just seems like a silly thing to do. (But I guess he's god, so different rules apply?) But still any thinking man knows god knows about our suffering. And any thinking man knows that being crucified is no biggie for god because he's god.
