Mayall put together some phenominal blues bands including a very young Eric Clapton. You must seek out and purchase the bluesbreakers albums and hear the off tracks. Room to move combined with Goin' back to California still blows me away.

@1samuelfour If you want a real awakening about the group Spirit, do a little digging on the internet about Randy California. There is a great story of their encounter with Jimi Hendrix before he went to England to get "noticed" and the story of how Randy died trying to save a life. As inspirin...

I agree his father was a very nice man and the whole family is really nice, down to earth people. How his sister put up with those brothers, I will never figure out. They came to all of the games in high school and always tried to be not noticed. They wanted the focus on the players.

I had money on Shavers and even if he didn't win, he was a winner in my book. You will never see heavyweights like this anymore. They dance and paw, but they don't man up like this anymore. One of the greats.

Loved him in so many things over the years, it was great to relive many of them here. He was a great guest on Johnny Carson and I still play my original LP of Heavy whenever I am fighting my own weight.
