Joyce sang world premiere of Heggie's "Breaking Waves" on texts by Sister Helen Prejean (Joyce portrays Sister Helen in this video from "Dead Man Walking" by Heggie and Prejean). The new work is breathtakingly beautiful and moving. Hope she'll record the songs.

Marilyn Horne sang this role in concert @ Carnegie Hall - wow. Blythe is Horne's natural successor in all things sung - in any language, of any type. Perhaps Blythe's "glottals" weren't at their best on June 24, 2008 - but did you hear her in Rodelinda at the Met? WOWWWWW

have to watch several times to ID everybody. it helps to turn down that irritating Bazzini track that every serious fiddle student knows. Why not have "Largo al factotum" as sound track instead? More operatic!
