US politics is a shame. After a decade of foreign policy that has devastated our credibility abroad, our internal policies are being pulled further into conservative and right-wing territory by an electorate that is mercilessly misinformed by organizations such as the Heritage Foundation, Fox News, and the Cato Institute. A strong, well-funded central government that provides efficient services for the public is in our long-term best interest. This means that there will be heavier taxes to pay for the improved infrastructure, public schools, public transportation, etc. If financially supporting the public domain on par with other developed countries has a small cost in GDP--which I do not take for granted--then it will still be more than worth the price for the total payoff in terms of health, lower crime rates, stability, and other aspects of life quality.

As far as I know I hadn't seen his clips before but I've heard of him of course. The floating pool stick was pretty funny. The Sheriff Tends Bar was perfect for today. In my gender and comm class we talked about a woman who ordered straight whiskey and the bartender refused to make it for her because it is a "Man's Drink."
