try using a super shifter or something similar to drop the pitch lower. and I think having a tremolo might help a bit too. ;)

@jamiepiemusic tubescreamer has a few really good tutorials on the swells. the idea is actually pretty simple. just browse around the vids until you find it. (sorry, I don't know the link off hand)
