About this user
As an artist my role is to bridge the division between man, woman, and the media we use. I don't necessarily wish to tell my audience what to think while looking at my work, but how it affects them in the context of their own lives.
I am primarily a painting based artist, but I do not only aspire to fine-tune my painting techniques. Rather I am interested in projects that push the boundaries of artistic media itself; I choose to depict life as a culmination of experiences and genres. I am influenced by painters like Marlene Dumas, Frida Kahlo, and Alice Neel as well as with performance art and its pantheon of artists: Marina Abramovic, Karen Finley, Leigh Bowery, and Tim Miller.
My body is my most important artistic implement. I am interested in all forms of creativity: video, performance, installation, traditional crafts. The central theme in my work is how and where male femininity fits into our society. Once you strip away the clothes, jewelry, makeup, and hair we are all essentially the same.
