@RavenousSky You may have an errant process running in the background, there's an updater process that tends to cook the CPU after updates. May be your issue, my mac runs cool while in windows, exception being startup, but otherwise its flawless.

might have something going on with your mac, it was a little slow, maybe bad sectors or something, that was painfully slow, my personal machine is a 2.26 Core2Duo, and even when it was equipped with 2gb of ram it was much faster than that. Might have to have it checked out..
