Just in case anybody is interested, we are playing a tune from Lotus Dickey's repertoire called, Pegleg. A home-grown Indiana tune, I think. The howling along with the tune, however, is from Bob's repertoire.

This is a recording Alabama fiddler, James Bryan extracted directly from his First of May LP. It's a beautiful tune that James composed in D. But I wonder why you have not credited him here. Thanks for posting it but as a professional fiddler, myself, it is imperative that you do so.

John is almost the source of this tune. He learned it from a collection of fiddle and fife music from western PA collected by Samuel Bayard of Penn State U in the 30's-40's. The Wilders popularized it and now the tune is in many an old time fiddler's repertoire.
