hey, you might want to try sitting on the edge of the bed, sitting cross legged can be kind of uncomfortable , at least to me, but if its most comfortable to you its fine. as for your arm and wrist hurting it could be you just need to get used to the position and it'll get better or maybe the position of your arm. some people like to keep their elbow tucked in and some like it sticking out a bit more, try different positions and use whichever is most comfortable.
