@MajorVolkin You are correct, Major. The greens I play (public greens) are more unpredictable. Nothing you can do about that no matter what technique you use. However, I have demonstrated that this technique beats great putters using the traditional method at the Golf Hall of Fame Putting Tour...

I think there is a better way than developing "feel" for lag putts. I relate the length of the backstroke to the length of the putt. I also include the rise or fall of the green and the grain effects. Once I know what my backstroke length should be for the lag putt, I use the "tick-tock" metho...

I get a perfect pendulum motion by facing the hole and using one hand to putt. Feels really wierd at first, but you can get extremely accurate with practice. I had to make my one-handed putter though. Do you sell one?

To get the distance correct on Lag putts, I step off the putt. I can then do a simple calculation to determine how long my backstroke should be. Takes the guessing and "feel" out of the equation. With minimum practice you can get very consistent on the distance. Determining the aim point is a...

Mike. Good advice. The next lesson should talk about the backstroke length. I measure the distance to the hole, the speed of the green, the rise or fall and the grain. Once I have those factors (easily measured) I use a table to tell me how long my backstroke should be for the putt.
