thanks emily! It's actually a Duduk sample with some pitchbend automation. hope that helps!
There is only one Play Hard, and it belongs to Krewella. This song took a beautiful classic dance tune and shat all over it.
Of course, why else would I comment on a very specific thing he said? I'm guessing you don't listen to much classical music. There are CDs I own from the 90's where the waveform is pencil-thin. I have to crank my speakers up way too much to hear some of the stuff. Not good. A little limiting does not kill the music.
ultimately, I've found the BEST use of the ipad is simply plugging it into your DAW of choice (Pro tools, logic, ableton, etc) and using it for what it is - a piece of "outboard gear".
I love Steve's plugins and respect the guy's work, but this just feels gimmicky. To have a piece of touch hardware controlling a 'bridge' application that THEN controls your DAW... Sounds like a recipe for disaster. There will be the inevitable bugs... I would wait at least a couple of years and see before buying something like this.
this tutorial is BEYOND FANTASTIC! Very inspiring!! Thank you!!!! Though I gotta say PUSH just doesn't look worth it at all, it's like an overly cumbersome Novation Launchpad.
My favorite concerto and favorite recording , thank you!
Daniel, now this is a great video! Great tips.
I don't understand why people use "parallel compression" when it comes to sample based beats. I mix professionally and really heard nothing different in this before and after. Parallel compression is something you would use on LIVE drums, where the fast attack and fast release brings out the sound of the room, and of course you then blend that with the uncompressed signal. But on samples there's nothing to bring out. If you want sample based beats to sound better use EQ, transient shapers and
Nice video! I just can't see how Auria could ever be taken seriously. Let's say the iPad 7 came out and it runs fine - well the fact that you don't have key commands and shortcuts makes getting into a state of flow with this app nearly impossible!
KEANU that background score is APPALLINGLY BAD. I couldn't even pay attention with those cheesy fake strings in the background. PLEASE get a real score this is just so so horrible, I don't even want to see the movie now.
"the bad craftsman always blames his tools"… if you can't get Live to sound good chances are you won't get bitwig to sound good either. Lol at Live being "boring old"… that software is a gift to music. What are you looking for? That the DAW write the music for you?
How is this in any way a short-cut? This is a completely new instrument that will inspire people to do very un-guitarlike things. You can assign ANYTHING you want to those MIDI buttons and create effects not possible with traditional FX pedals.
Comparing traditional guitar playing to this is like comparing a boss 8 track to ableton live. It's just a stupid thing to argue and get defensive about. We live in the 21st century people, get over it.
Cool tutorial... Could you make one explaining how to use the patch cables correctly? I've yet to find anyone explaining this!!
One thing i wanted to ask - is there a way to monitor the filtered side-chain signal (like the Waves or Ableton plugins)? If there is, I couldn't find it. If not, please consider adding this - it would be really helpful!!!
smooth jazz getting respect? Im at a loss for words.
Wow Dave….So generous of you to share this knowledge. Thank you!! I can't wait to try this!!!!
Thank god for Robert Rodriguez
This is such a wonderful piece.. Thank you for sharing it! Reminds me of something out of the never ending story! How do you create those little note trills/embellishments in the guitar sound?
Complaining about this? Really? It's a great song and lest we forget… you're getting to listen to it for FREE. If you think it's "not as good as …" then just don't listen.
Dammit twisted tools, just take my money already!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Matt for the excellent video!
"It's basically like jailbreaking Ableton." Never thought of it that way… cool way of putting it.. I was going to wait a year or two, and let the user library grow, but you make me want to get max for live now! I was wondering, have you tried out Csound for Live?
Damn, where's autotune when you need it? Praising god would sound better if it was in key.
This is what Native Instruments Absynth should be - Simple, fun, and great results fast. Amazing product Izotope!
Killparis, I've been watching a bunch of your videos over the past two hours and I gotta say.. you have this amazing ability to present interesting material in a way that gets right to the friggin point. Thank you, some of the best tutorials on youtube.
Holy shit, and I thought I had to buy ableton's sampler to scroll through kicks.. THANK YOU!
Amazing... simply amazing tutorial.. Thank you.
one of the BEST future music "in the studio"s EVER!!! Very, very inspiring.
Diego, you are such an inspiration... This video is fantastic! Just curious, are you recording these tracks at 96k?
Thanks Evan! Interesting tutorial...
Not the place for this.. but... NI should really discontinue Absynth, it's waveforms and it's granular engine sound like shit compared to other VSTs. Plus it's so user-unfriendly that it kills creativity before you even start.
Cool tip… it's just a different way of working.. thanks thavius!
Dr. Hernandez, I just finished watching all 35, and I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in creating these videos. Not only has this been incredibly helpful and inspiring in getting me started with PD, but this has also helped me a lot in understanding how Reaktor works! You f'ing rock!!
Please, please, please set up some kind of subscription service for a monthly (or per-video) fee and I would be the first to sign up for more PD tutorials!!
So true. Geist kind of sucks when slicing up loops. The "shift" feature is REALLY awkward, just turn off the grid and let us see where the notes lie.
Don't forget he also MASTERS his own music as well. No one deserves it more!
