About this user

Jason is an avid outdoorsman, he has chased everything that swims, flocks or walks. He grew up along the banks of the Rio Grande in Las Cruces, NM, later attending college in Socorro, NM and Las Vegas, NM. He has degrees in Mathematics, Theoretical Physics and Secondary Education. During his early 20's he taught in the public school system and spent his summers guiding fly fisherman in Northern New Mexico. Those experiences fortified his belief that certain things like the rise of a Gila Trout to hand tied fly or the Bugle of a Bull Elk are experiences that should never be bartered. He believes that the access to outdoors experiences should be shared by all, regardless of socioeconomic status. Always excited about new technologies, he has fully embraced the internet as a tool to help get others involved in the outdoors. He is the most followed NM-specific blog called www.TheNewMexicoSportsman.com and is very versed in social marketing techniques. The use of the internet has allowed him to reach and engage a demographic that is quickly losing touch with the outdoors. He is currently a Project Manager in the Healthcare Industry and lives in Silver City, NM.
