What a beautiful version of this song, I loved it as soon as I heard it in 1974. It takes me back to the Christmas of that year, when I was a young very happy bride. Not so young now but happy enough! Thnaks for sharing this lovely song

I love this, thanks for sharing it! I have never heard this version before, I used to have a 78 of HM Barnes and his Blue Ridge Ramblers on the Brunswick label, any chance of finding a copy to put on here? This is just great, I could listen to this music all day long!!

@FabFM You are right about the production on this record, it is a bit patchy I think. That is what I would find the fault with, not the band. I think the poignancy of this song is still captured here, just not so well produced.

For all those still concerned with songs being about real little girls, do check out the Syndicate of Sound Little Girl, a terrific recording! It is a brilliant song and should leave you in no doubt that no kids are involved!
