When I was in Cuba a few years ago, I was at a bar in Camaguay where this was played and everyone got up to dance to it. I believe it is one the most romantic songs in Cuba.

That's ok- I bought a cd of Van's hits and both were on it. The sound of the 45 was better though, even with the scratches....

toot toot is actually the Cajun/Creole French for " my all, my everything"- a term of endearment- this is according to Rockin' Sydney- who wrote the song...

to kellijs- that song is called " the circle is small", and it's on his 3rd lp with other great songs like "did she mention my name". I believe there's a later version, but I like this one.

I was at a concert in Vancouver in 67 where Gord played this song. He said that Phil was working on it when he came up to Toronto and played it for him.

Phil's live version has 2 more verses that Gord left out. Both are terrific versions of a great song- period.
