I am extremely devastated about the news of the lost of Whitney's life. My mother is saddened and so am I. She told me and then our cousin called as well. So sad.
Thank you Whitney for sharing your voice with the world. It is a blessing to literally be a part of that family history. May you rest in sweet peace. There will not EVER be another you.
Even though I no longer sing anymore I want the world to see who was such a great inspiration to me. It's a shame what is going on in the music industry today. I didn't get the chance to meet her but I somehow know she was a good woman despite what others said. I urge the fakers to take a look at yourself and see you for who you are. You called her a crackhead and talked about her so bad but now you love her so. Phonies.

Lady J is a powerhouse singer/songwriter from Charleston South Carolina living in Orlando whose love is for the "soul" aspect of music. Born March 4, 1983, Lady J also known as Jamilyn has been performing since the tender age of 3.
Lady J's musical background is as follows: second cousin is Don Hollinger. He was a Blues/Soul singer. He worked with Betty Wright, Sam Cooke, Latimore, Johnnie Taylor, John Edwards (formally from the Spinners), and Doris Duke, worked closely with and wrote songs for the legendary Blues Singer ZZ Hill, and others. Anna Drinkard was her great grandmother who is first cousin to Nicholas "Nitch" Drinkard father of Legendary Gospel Singer Cissy Houston, who is also mother of R&B Legend Whitney Houston.
Lady J is currently being mentored by Alvin "Al" Morse, legendary singer of The Coasters. My passion for music runs deep, it is in my family. As lead singer in the Chrystal Brown Youth Ensemble which was featured on the legendary, Dr. Bobby Jones gospel show, also featured on American Idol both Seasons 4 and 9.
As an independent artist, has dabbled in different areas of the business, has also won numerous talent competitions, has also been featured in play productions, entertained at live comedy shows and was featured on hometown radio station Z93 in Charleston, SC. Lady J has also written and vocally arranged the "Angel Dreams" song for Angel Body Products, an International Multi Level Marketing Company specializing in selling body shapers and nutraceuticals.
