On the 27th of December 2011, the Dean Forest Railway in Gloucestershire ran 9681 on its Mince Pie Special services. In this video we see the train at Upper Forge, Oakenwood 3 crossing, running around at Parkend, and finally leaving Parkend at Oakenwood 3 crossing again.
I would like to take this opportunity to say sorry for not being active on YouTube recently. Unfortunately due to the amount of work from A Levels, I haven't had time to edit and upload videos. Also what I've filmed recently hasn't really been that good. I am not likely to have a lot of free time anytime soon, so unfortunately it's unlikely to change. I hope you understand this. I will try and get another video out by the end of half term, but if I can't, then may I wish you all the best for the new year.

To celebrate the opening of the Big Pit branch, the Pontypool and Blaenavon held a 3 day gala to celebrate industrial steam in South Wales. 3 visiting locos attended, Mardy Monster, Sir Gomer and Whitehead. All three had previously worked in South Wales before preservation. On the day I visited on the Saturday, the weather was mostly sunny with a few showers with very strong winds.
In this video
Sir Gomer and Mardy Monster climb from Blaenavon High Level to Furnace Sidings Whitehead arriving at Big Pit Halt (under construction) Sir Gomer and 71515 leaving Blaenavon High Level Sir Gomer climbing the bank between Furnace and Whistle with a coal train Mardy Monster and Whitehead climbing the bank 71515 and Whitehead at Bridge 12 (ROR) 71515 climbing the bank under dark cloud (a heavy shower started as soon as I turned the camera off) Mardy and 19 arriving at Furnace Sidings 71515 arriving into Furnace Sidings from Big Pit Whitehead in the yard and all three visitors climbing above Blaenavon.
I would like to apologise for the inactivity recently, I will have less time on here now I'm doing A Levels.

On Bank Holiday Monday, one off 8p Duke of Gloucester hauled a tour to Carmarthen in West Wales.
I decided to film the tour down in Carmarthenshire at Kidwelly and Ferryside, however whilst waiting for the train at Cardiff I saw it approach and just managed to get the camera out in time. We see it run over the bridge at Kidwelly flats, then a less than ideal shot at Ferryside where I had to change the set up last second as someone used the crossing literally a minute before it was due through, so I had to move the tripod out the way (hence I had to setup again in seconds so couldn't remove the Stop Look and Listen sign), before finally seeing it at Bridgend.
I haven't had access to my main computer in the last few days so this is why it's delayed, sorry for this.
Thanks to JBTEvans

Wednesday 17th August 2011
BR 70000 Britannia is seen working the Bath Spa Express railtour from Poole to Bristol Temple Meads via Bath, seen at Freshford on the outbound working, and at a crossing in Bradford on Avon on the return. Please note although the location for the return at the crossing looks like it's on the 'wrong side of the fence', it was behind the gate and fencing and I have proof that I wasn't trepassing on the railway. *sorry for the sharpness ruining some of the shots, I will reduce it from now on* With nothing else to do on a quiet Sunday, I decided to visit my nearest railway which I haven't been to in years. Running was Number Two, built by Baldwin of Philadelphia in the USA, it spending its working life hauling limestone near Port Elizabeth in South Africa before ending up at the railway.
We see the train making it's way to the run round loop at Dol-y-Gaer along the shore of the Taf Fechan Reservoir in the Brecon Beacons. After seeing it arrive back at Pontsticill, we take a 15 second ride along the scenic route to Pant to the north of Merthyr Tydfil, before seeing it depart with the last round trip of the day.
