Is it also possible to write

instead of

mov byte [bx+si], 24

Thanks for these awesome tutorials. To follow along, I'm using a similar combination as you do (Ubuntu with Virtualbox) and just had to see what was causing the annoyance of the little tab not disappearing. Turns out the culprit is the little pin icon that was pressed. :-)

@bornokmcbread No, if you do a cmp, je and another cmp je and follow with a jne, the jne only applies to the last cmp because it sets a flag. You could do a cmp al, 79 - then je your_y_location - then cmp al, 6e - then je your_n_location - and after that you follow with the code that would execut...
