Revealed religions such as Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are useful tools to control large masses of people, even to the point of convincing them to give you their money. They have nothing to do with any god. They have everything to do with man's fear of the unknown. Death scares many of us. Revealed religions exploit that fear by offering an explanation that makes us happy, an achievable means to paradise. We're willing to do whatever god tells us to do, and religious leaders are all too happy to tell us what god wants, as if they actually know.
Revealed religion is nonsense, and it would be funny if millions of people hadn't been slaughtered in the name of it over the course of human history.
