Since females can only contribute the X (female) chromosome and the sex of a child depends on whether the father contributes an X or a Y (male) chromosome, it was Henry VIII's fault that he didn't get the longed-for son. Imagine trying to convince him of that.

This is the most beautiful Christmas song I've heard in my life! And to think that it was written in 1984, not 200 years ago.

Real or not, the thing that struck me is that, in all of the statements supporting/denying the idea, they always refer to Jesus and Magdalen as being married and having a child. What if they produced a child out of wedlock? It's as if the very idea is so scandalous as to be unmentionable.

The narrator states that the killer and the 2nd victim (Harvey) leave the pub, go to a particular place where he gets her to take 2 pills and....she's never seen again. No mention is made of a witness to all of this and, if she disappeared, how was any of the info ...

I'm so used to Dionne Warwick's version of this that I had forgotten that Jack Jones did this as well. You're right seishsmom, the 60's were a great time to be a kid!
Something that was unclear to me is this - if there were no trees in Orkney, what did the people use for fires? In Skara Brae there are a number of structures used that were built to hold fires but there isn't a tree to be found. ??
