On THE VERY BEST OF MICK JAGGER, his distinguished solo work is compiled and examined for the first time ever on an anthology spanning over thirty years of highlights, with all tracks selected by Jagger himself. In addition to the audio CD, the collectible LIMITED DELUXE EDITION also features a bonus DVD with a newly filmed interview in which Jagger reflects on his solo career, seven music videos, a 1978 Saturday Night Live performance with Peter Tosh, and more.
The collection includes:
- two demos, "Charmed Life" and "Checkin' Up On My Baby," from the Rick Rubin-produced sessions for Jagger's '93 solo LP Wandering Spirit
- previously unreleased "Too Many Cooks (Spoil The Soup)," produced by John Lennon and cut in Los Angeles in 1973
- Jagger/Richards-penned classic "Memo From Turner" (from the soundtrack to the 1970 cult film Performance)
- "Old Habits Die Hard" (produced by Jagger and former Eurythmic Dave Stewart).
- The Temptations' hit "(You Got To Walk And) Don't Look Back," recorded for Peter Tosh's 1978 album Bush Doctor
- 1985 duet with David Bowie, "Dancing In The Street," originally immortalized by Martha and the Vandellas
The balance of the album's seventeen tracks are pulled from Jagger's four solo albums - She's The Boss (1985), Primitive Cool (1987), Wandering Spirit (1993), and Goddess In The Doorway (2001). Selections include "God Gave Me Everything," which Jagger cowrote with Lenny Kravitz; "Joy," on which Bono contributes a guest vocal, and the hit singles "Let's Work," "Just Another Night," "Lucky In Love" and "Sweet Thing."
