Since April of 2008, JSL has signed a management deal with Cleveland-based HM Live (HM), an independent DIY concert-promotion and band-management firm. With the help of HM, JSL has worked with famed producerDon Debiase (Driver Side Impact, Beneath the Sky) and engineer Johnny Burke of Studio D Productions to complete a brand new album. The six-track EP is beginning to draw attention and currently is being shopped to independent and major labels across the country. Early believers of the new EP include Scott Austin (former A&R Warner Bros, Maverick, Capitol Records) and Bob Bradley (former Rep for Fearless Records, Victory Records, Purevolume.com).
The new EP, And Thats What Made Her Angry, features 20 minutes of vigorous, sing-along power-pop. While stylistically diverse, drawing from influences in pop, indie, punk, and techno, the songs find common ground in their infectious hooks, frantic energy, and exuberant attitude. Beneath their colorful exterior, the songs convey tales of lust, deviance, deceit and disappointment. Even in their early stages, the recordings have shown early signs of resonating with a diverse fan base.
JSL intends to tour extensively in support of the new EP. JSLs plans to promote the record include full service to college and commercial radio, music blogs and music press worldwide as well as negotiating possible licensing deals for film and television. Additionally, through a partnership with TuneCore, And Thats What Made Her Angry will be distributed to international online retail outlets.
