Jacklestein

The word "Jacklestein" comes from the ancient Indonesian word "Yakol" which means power and understanding. In 1843, when British ships settled on the Island of New Guinea, German professor Gustav Stein was given the title of Yakol by the native Sorkan tribe. Gustav, honored by the title, changed his name to Yakol Stein but misspelled it as "Jackel" Stein. Jackel Stein immigrated to the United States in 1859, where his name was changed to Jackle Stein by Immigration Officials. He and his family moved to Virginia, where, 4 months later, his family was brutally slaughtered by Confederates. After the tragedy, he wrote the novel "Death in the South," a tale of horror, despair, and lost hope, with "Jacklestein" as his pen name. Unfortunately, before he finished his novel, he was recruited for the army and was killed in the battle of Gettysburg.

In 2005, I found this book and have begun to finish it. I have taken the name of Jacklestein. These videos are the final chapters.
