What was the first song Michael ever sung and when?
Dean Martin - "Everybody Loves Somebody", at around six or seven years of age or so, although to this day he doesn't remember how something like that could have happened.

Michael's favorite musicians/bands?
Michael considers Jerry Reed (from "When You're Hot, You're Hot" fame and a fantastic guitar player by anyone's standards) to be his hero and mentor. Michael would be first to admit he doesn't play much like Jerry, but his finger picking styles are a series of copies, emulations and "sound-alikes" of Jerry's finger picking style.

He also loves the music of James Taylor, Pink Floyd, Jim Croce, E.L.P., Cat Stevens. Influences would include Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, David Gilmour, Ritchie Blackmore, Carlos Santana and Tommy Emmanuel.

How long has Michael been playing guitar?
He got his first guitar at four years of age but he didn't do any serious playing or performing until his teens.

What style of music does Michael play?
Michael would say that he has no particular "style." He just plays music from the 30's through the 80's, including pop, some folk, a healthy helping of standards, rock and even a 90 minute Jerry Reed set. Whatever he likes at the time.
