On March 3, 2009, at the age of 44, I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. There was no history of any cancer in my family.
Shortly after my diagnosis, I learned about the realtionship between elevated estrogen levels and breast cancer.
I learned that there was a test which measures your ability to process estrogen. The goal of IVF and HRT medications' is to raise estrogen levels. If you can't metabolize estrogen well, the elevated estrogen levels can become cancerous.
My goal as a patient advocate is to tell as many women as possible about this risk and all the steps they can take to prevent breast cancer from the inability to process these medications.
